Personality: Sweet Buddy must not have had much care and attention in his life. He came into GRR in August with hookworms, skin issues, ear infections and heartworm. With the love and care of his foster family, Buddy is slowly but surely improving and getting some bounce in his step.

Buddy had a few marking issues early on, but nothing recently. He is free to roam the downstairs of his foster home now, but he doesn’t go upstairs. The stairs are too slippery for him. He is great with kids and has done well with the other dog in the house, Chloe. If she gets a little too rambunctious for Buddy, they both go their perspective “corners” and regroup! He had a short stay in a home with cats and he pretty much ignored them.

Buddy likes to ride in the car, moving from side to side to stick his head in the wind and let his ears flop! He’s good on the leash and take redirection well when he starts to pull or wander around. He’s very calm in the house and sleeps through the night. Thunderstorms don’t seem to bother him. He doesn’t seem to be interested in a ball at this point. He does have a bone he likes to chew on and toss around. He’s nice and calm when it’s grooming time. A brushing must feel pretty good on his once itchy skin.

Buddy is pretty low energy, which is good because he shouldn’t get too rambunctious while he recovers from heartworm. He’s getting there one day at a time, but you can tell he doesn’t feel 100%.

Ideal Home: For now, Buddy needs a low energy home with perhaps another dog to play with. He loves to be outside, so a nice beg backyard would be nice, and maybe some kids to share it with!
