Meet GRR’s Starr who is acclimating to living “inside” after spending her entire life living outside as a breeding dog. At this point, Starr's world has been rocked beyond her narrow, comfort level. Everything is new to her. The positive news is that we are beginning to see progress and Starr is slowly coming out of her shell. She’s showing glimpses of curiosity as she becomes more familiar with her “inside” environment.
Starr is gaining a little more confidence each day! Sometimes it's two steps forward and one back, but she is still making strides from the pacing, panting girl of 10 days ago!
Starr is starting to take an interest in her toys. Yesterday (1/4), Starr picked up her lamb chop stuffy which has been sitting on her bed since she arrived and gave a few tail wags before starting to play with it. Next, she carried around her alligator and a chew stick.
Starr has a lovely, beautiful face when she lifts up when she comes to see you now instead of bowing it down. Her tail is wagging more rather than plastered down and she will proactively approach her foster mom a little bit more confidently and ask for pets and ear scritches --- Starr loves both. Small steps of progress and we expect more to come as Starr adjusts to her new world.
Ideal Home: Starr is shy, timid, and cautious but becoming more curious and slowly adjusting to her new environment. Hence it’s too early to know what type of home will be best for Starr long-term. Please check back as we learn more about this sweet girl’s progress.
