GRR Number: 17-020
Type of Surrender: Owner Turn In
Personality: Bevo came to GRR for Furrever home placement when his previous owners became unable to provide care. They made the decision to turn him over to a shelter. That shelter willingly released him to GRR with hopes to find a more compatible home where this “Gentle Senior” can find compassion and care to live out his golden years.
Although considered a senior at ten, Bevo has proven to be an adaptable fella that enjoys a great snuggle, some soft pats, a gentle walk and the company of the current foster family’s dogs. Bevo has wonderful manners and is very intelligent. He happily performs basic commands such as sit, stay and is easily redirected.
He is gentle with treats and has good manners with meals. Bevo will require extensive dental surgery/care so he should have a relatively soft diet and be able to eat at a comfortable pace. In his foster home he is fed separately to allow him to eat slowly.
He moves well for an arthritic senior. Bevo truly enjoys pleasing his people, and does not mind the activities of the other younger foster dogs in his current home. He is an experienced leash walker and does not pull or require lots of redirection. He does best with a mid-day potty break and is showing his foster family
Ideal home: Bevo is recovering from demodex mange likely associated with an infestation and subsequent infection. He is also being treated for a significant ear infection. As he heals his personality is shining through like a bright spring sun. Bevo will do best in a family that isn’t overly active. They should be willing and able to assist him with getting in/out of a vehicle since his mobility is slightly limited due to arthritis. He does sleep through the night and enjoys the quiet of his super soft padded bed. Bevo is searching for his lifetime companion. Is it you?
