Abby was a special dog who was a great (and patient) friend to the kids. She loved walks, even though she got tired after a quarter mile.
She could hear me cutting a chicken breast from anywhere in the house and come to beg for scraps. When she looked at you, you couldn't help but scratch behind her ear.
Abby kept our Roomba busy. She sounded mean through a locked door; yet only wanted love when the visitor was revealed. She could tell time and would let you know that it was 5 minutes past dinner. She'd tell us when it was time for everyone to go to bed. During thunderstorms, she trusted us to keep her safe.
Abby was one of us and she will be missed.
