Positive for heartworms?:
Extraordinary Golden Fund recipient?:

GRR Number: 18-031

Type of Surrender: Owner Turn In

Status: Available

Age: 10-11

Weight: 70

Personality: Shadow is one of GRR’s cherished senior citizens. He has a lot of experience under his belt, which of course includes being perfectly housebroken and being so trustworthy behavior-wise, that he is free to be out and about the house without supervision. He is a perfect gentleman with all people, including children. After initial meeting, he then goes his own way to lie down. He enjoys the company of other dogs, but will usually just leave them to their own devices. He is gentle and plays well with cats.

Shadow travels in the car well, but needs a little assistance getting in and out of the car. He’s not really a walker. He’s fine on the leash without pulling, but gets worn out quickly. He does love to retrieve, but has a little pain and discomfort if he exerts himself too much.

His behavior inside the house is impeccable. He peacefully chews on his toys and lolls around, enjoying this privilege earned after 11 years of life. He is extremely low maintenance. He’s low energy and, as his foster put it, “is extremely calm and charismatic.”

Shadow, like many Goldens, has some thunder phobia. A storm is the only thing that will make him climb the stairs to be with his foster parent in the bedroom.

Ideal Home: Shadow must be in a home with no stairs and needs a family who just wants a loving companion and not a dog to walk or run with them. Shadow has proven that he will be able to adapt easily to a new family.
