Everyone that meets Lucy Lou says she is just a wonderful Golden. Her owners recently found that they needed to transition into an assisted living facility, and regrettably their lovable Lucy Lou could not join them.  Their constant companion Lucy Lou was suddenly adrift. But the stars aligned, and Lucy Lou has found her way to GRR on the path to a new forever home.

Personality: Super sweet, calm and well behaved, her personality comes shining through in her photos above. Lucy Lou has adapted amazingly well to her abrupt and emotional change in her life, and is now living with her GRR foster.

At her foster’s home, she has formed a quick friendship with Golden boy Sam, who is near her same age. That’s saying something, since Sam has been known to be picky about his buddies in the past. Together, he is showing her the ropes, and she is showing everyone just how mellow and loving she can be.  Her tail wags constantly, and that occasional thumping sound you hear is her tail bumping a nearby wall.

Lucy Lou has stellar indoor manners, but will confess to calmly begging for food that looks yummy. She confirmed that her owners had fed her well, and is a solid weight for her size and age. She has maintained her healthy appetite in her foster’s care, eating enthusiastically and wasting no time cleaning her bowl!

Initially, with her foster, she was sleeping happily in the laundry room with a baby gate separating her.  Lucy Lou soon let it be known that she was more comfortable sleeping with her humans, and was welcomed in to sleep by her foster’s bed.  Once settled for the night, she snoozes soundly and doesn’t make a peep. She takes companionship seriously, this girl.  She uses the ever popular “nose-nudge” to quietly get your attention when needed, and wants to know where you are at all times.

Outdoor manners are fine as well, as she is great on the leash (no pulling) and is a steady paced walker.  Riding in the car is even better than walks in her view, but she may need a boost to jump into the back seat. As you might guess, she is a great traveler.  As for water, Lucy just loved getting a bath in the backyard, and was in heaven with the soap massage that came with it (tongue out the side, dazed look in her eyes)! Grooming with the brush makes her almost as happy, and she seems genuinely appreciative of all the attention she receives.

Her foster brags she is a dream and a true gem – very adaptable to the action of the moment, calm and well behaved in any situation.  Make no mistake, Lucy Lou is a very rare and special girl.

Ideal Home:    Lucy Lou would be best in a quieter household, but multiple family members suit her just fine.  She is completely good with cats, so a family with a kitty would be just fine, too.
