Juliette’s story is long and a bit sad – from being stolen from her owner’s backyard and then living with a family for 3-1/2 years who never took her to a vet. They eventually took her to a shelter and when they were told she should see a vet, they surrendered her. Ultimately, that was a good thing because now she is in the loving care of GRR.

Because of her past neglect, she is being treated for a variety of things. She is also heartworm positive.

Personality: For a dog who has been neglected for so many years, Juliette still managed to develop that Golden personality that shines through everything else.

Juliette is fully potty and crate trained. She sleeps in her crate with the door open, so she is free to roam the den. She gets excited around people and bounces around them on the floor without jumping on them.

She’s good in the car but rides in her crate. She pulls a bit on the leash like any excitable dog, but she’s not bad. Juliette has had no exposure to cats. It’s not known yet if she likes to swim as she has not been around water.

Juliette is nice and calm in the house. Rather low energy and shy, but a very sweet girl, considering her back story.

She’s a little tentative walking on the wood floors, likely because she has been a yard dog all her life. She sleeps through the night with an occasional howl. Maybe Juliette is having bad dreams about her former life!

Currently she is fighting grooming attempts, but when she realizes her foster folks aren’t trying to hurt her, she calms down. (Maybe another bad memory from her past life.)

Ideal Family: Juliette should be with a family looking for a calm companion who loves older goldens and is willing to take her through heartworm treatment (at GRR’s expense).
