Joy, who it seems has been named absolutely appropriately, is a darling young Golden mix who was noticed hanging around a neighborhood in Crawford, Texas. She was taken in by a local shelter. The shelter then contacted GRR.

Personality: Joy is a blonde, fluffy beauty. She wiggles a LOT when she is happy or excited, and since she seems to be so happy now that she has found safety, there is a lot of wiggling going on! She flashes a dazzling white smile to everyone and anyone who will pay attention to her.

Joy must have belonged to a family at some point, because she seems to be reliably housetrained and she does very well in her crate, sleeping soundly through the night. She loves to play with other dogs and everyone gets along fine. She is shy at first around both adults and children right now, but seems to be coming out of her shell as time goes on. Once she gets to know you, she turns into a sweet, playful “Joy” to be around. She likes to play with toys, but will not fetch one and take it to someone to instigate a play session.

Joy has shown that she is good car rider, but she has yet to be around any kitties, so we don't know how she takes to them. Walking on a leash seems a bit foreign to her, as she either pulls or plops her bottom down on the ground stubbornly. There is some work to be done here!

Ideal Home: Joy would love a home that has kids and maybe even another dog or two because she seems to love both two- and four-legged companionship. She’s young and when she completely loosens up, will likely be fully of energy, so she’ll need a lot of attention to help her burn that off.
