Personality: Heidi’s name means nobility and Merriam-Webster offers two possible meanings: the group of people belonging to the noble class in a country or the quality of being noble in character, mind, birth or rank.  While Heidi’s personality may fit that description, her lifestyle was nothing like a member of the aristocracy… pauper might be more appropriate. Being kept in that kennel for so long played havoc with her body, includng her weight. She needs to loose 12-17 pounds. She has bare spots on her butt , legs, and elbows.

But all of that changed the day she was pulled from PVAC by Gold Ribbon Rescue.  No longer would she spend her days kenneled and birthing puppies.  She would receive medical attention for her skin, ear and eye issues and learn about wonderful things like treats, toys, and walks.  She would be able to relax and sleep so soundly and comfortably that she may have snored… a little.

Heidi is calm and can be trusted to roam freely inside her foster home.   She enjoys being petted and brushed, as well as just laying around.  She has encountered other dogs but doesn’t seem interested in play yet and was lucky enough to experience a doggie pool for what may have been the first time.    Heidi is very calm but gets quite nervous about riding in cars.  Hopefully as she settles into her new life, she’ll begin to relax and see that car rides can be fun!

Ideal Home: Heidi needs a home where she will receive lots of love and encouragement- especially when it comes to exercise.  Good nutrition and movement will help her achieve a healthier weight and should resolve some of her health issues.  She deserves a family that will show her how good life can be.
