Age: 2 years

Weight:  60 lbs.

Personality:  “Harvey is just a great dog!” That quote just about sums it up, after only three days with his GRR foster.   This young golden has a real personality, and eagerly seeks your companionship wherever you go.  He barks to join his foster when she is outside working in the yard, and he is inside. (He just wants to help.) Harvey even took her spot on the couch when she left for a moment, so you could say he is well acclimated to his new environment in a short time and loves being close.  Gentle, affectionate and low energy inside the house, and full of energy when outside, joyfully chasing a toy and investigating every new sight and smell in the yard.

Harvey rides just fine in the car, but has indicated he prefers the driver’s seat over any other position!  He is well house trained, with no accidents. He is not bothered by loud music (even drums), so he fits well in the Austin music scene, with no preference expressed yet for music category.

His nutrition has taken a quantum leap with GRR, and he has already thriving, gaining more than five pounds. His appetite is great which has gone a long way to helping his overall strength and is improving his coat as well.

He appears well socialized, eagerly wanting to meet other dogs in the neighborhood.  He already has picked up the basic commands of sit and down, with more complex training on walks now underway. He clearly enjoys learning and receiving that positive feedback of a job well done.

Sounds like sharing a couch in your home with Harvey would lead to unforgettable adventures.

Ideal Home:    Harvey would be great in a house with a good deal of activity (with him in the middle of it all).  Ample time for continued training would be great for this very special 2 year old.  More details to follow, as he reveals more of his character, Harvey will also do best in a home where he is an "only dog" and there are no cats.
