Here are some family photos of my dear companion, Brady, during the last year of his life.  I fostered and then adopted him through GRR in August 2012.  He died of lymphoma at 6 years old on August 9, 2016.  He was a sweet, loving golden (as they all tend to be), yet he had this wonderful way of greeting every human he met.  He was quiet with the young ones, playful with everyone, and tender with those in need.  He was my unofficial therapy dog when I saw clients in my home office.  He would go out to the car when anyone came to visit, and would then guide them to the door and sit quietly next to them.  So many friends and neighbors have expressed their sadness as they realize he won’t be accompanying me on my twice a day walks.  He was described as regal, athletic, and gentle.  His heart was always open.  He taught me to relax into giving and receiving love more fully.  He will always have a place in my heart.  I hope to help others with their goldens and dogs of any breed as I go through these next few months.  I will eventually find another 4-legged companion, but his energetic presence is irreplaceable.
