Age: 10

Weight: 75 lbs.

Personality: Simply put, to quote Bo’s experienced foster mom, “This is a fabulous dog!”

You first notice his deep mahogany red coat which is awesome (a classic feature of his full blooded Golden heritage). Then you notice his energy level. Bo is a sweet, sweet boy, with the energy level of a young dog.  He just loves to play frisbee fetch in the back yard, with short breaks after each return of the fetch toy. But if you go inside, he is ready to join you to remain your close pal. He prefers to stay near, so he may join you on the couch with no invitation required!

What a personality. Bo greets you on your return home with constant tail-wagging excitement, in hopes of eliciting his favorite - large quantities of chest rubs while he sits up in front of you. Added bonus: if you rub exactly the right spot on his back, he will do figure 8’s through your legs! While hanging out around the house, he will routinely pick out a toy and present it to you so you can acknowledge his choice of the moment. But then, you can point to another toy and he will get it and bring it over to you. He’s not at all possessive with his toys, and if needed, relinquishes them easily. When not actively engaged in play, he is a content and quiet participant in all the on-going family activities.

Bo’s previous owners’ family and work situation recently changed, and so reluctantly they agreed to let GRR find him a new home, knowing he needs more quality time and interaction. Bo has lived with a two year old and a four year old getting along very well, except that his high energy level occasionally resulted in a tumble for his young masters. His previous owner would take Bo everywhere, which explains why Bo was rated “best ever” during car rides with his foster parents.

He settled right in to the foster’s home like he had always been there, as he quickly joined into his new “pack”.  He is a quick study. His foster mom says he has discovered that fish oil caplets are delicious once you get past the gummy outside coating!

Although he is crate trained, Bo prefers to pick out a place to sleep, and is comfortable sleeping there all night. And speaking of training, Bo proudly demonstrates sit, stay, come, down and bark on command. Pat the side of your left leg twice and he will come and stay until released! All in all, quite a special boy.

With Bo in your home, he will forever show his appreciation in ways only a Golden knows - providing constant love and companionship.

Ideal home: Bo’s preference would be to join a family with a moderate level of activity.  He would cherish a forever home where he could play fetch and take walks on a regular basis to channel his energy. His motto is “the more the merrier”, so children (older rather than young) and other dogs would suit him just fine.
