I've found my furever family!

Lucie

We're happy to tell you that Lucie has a new furever home.

Sweet Lucie came to GRR as a 9-month-old burst of sunshine!  She loves people and greets her foster parents like they’ve been gone for days – even when they just go upstairs and come right back down.  She is always ready to cuddle and thinks the best way to get next to you on the couch is a spry jump over the back.

She gets along well with the resident dog and warmed up to him very easily.  She likes the companionship of another dog and enjoys sharing her toys, tug of war, chase, and wrestling.  Lucie is doing well with the family cats, too!  She chased them a couple of times wanting to say “hi” and check them out, but now she’s willing to just watch them.

Lucie is a good eater and takes treats oh so gently.  She stays in her crate when her family has to leave for a little while.  She is house-trained and has great house manners for a puppy. She is still a puppy though and can be an opportunist if something catches her attention so training is ongoing.

She LOVES her ball and proudly walks around the house with it in her mouth – sometimes for 20 minutes!  She likes to play fetch and will bring the ball back to you…..sometimes…..if she feels like it.

Lucie enjoys going for walks and doesn’t seem to be reactive to other animals or people.

Most of all, Lucie is the happiest pup and wants everyone in the room to be just as happy as she is!  She has a big smile and a wag to match!  Her foster said it best – “Lucie is like a golden retriever out of a story or movie.  Whoever adopts Lucie will be winning the dog lottery!”

Her ideal home:

Lucie is still an active puppy and she needs to be with an active family and/or a dog who will be willing to play with her.  We believe she needs to be in a home where at least one person is with her for most of the day whether they are home together or on the go together.  She craves not only play time with dogs but human connection as well.  She's very smart and she picks up the good behaviors from the other Golden in the home so she'd do best with a confident older dog that is patient with her.
