Update: April 17, 2024
Freedom is slowly building confidence --- it’s a slow process but she is learning to trust. Her foster mom describes Freedom as sweet, affectionate, curious and shy; but her Golden personality is slowly shining through. She loves attention and food, needs someone home much of the time and is slowly learning how to walk on leash. As Freedom missed so much in her young years, everything is new to her.
She’s friendly to all but shy until she is sure of a situation. Freedom is very high energy and loves to run, run, run. She has never been around cats but does chase squirrels through the yard. While her bond is first to humans, she needs other dogs in the home to continue mentoring her and being with her when the foster makes a quick trip to HEB. Stay tuned as we watch this girl blossom.
Update: March 31
Freedom is slowly learning to be a dog. She has moved to a new foster home with two other GRR goldens, Jade and Trinity. Freedom is watching both dogs and following their lead which is helping her build confidence. She is definitely getting more comfortable and seems to want to play with the resident dogs but is still too nervous to try to join in. She hasn't discovered toys yet but hopefully she will learn how to play with time. So for now, patiently stares at Jade & Trinity playing.
When her foster mom is sitting, Freedom will put her head in her lap and partially climbs up to get pets. She loves that kind of attention and her tail is almost always wagging. Freedom does zoomies around the yard, has discovered squirrels and is obsessed with chasing them. Freedom is very affectionate and follows her foster mom everywhere. When her foster mom leaves for errands, Freedom is very excited when she returns. Who wouldn't love to be greeted like that? Stay tuned for more updates.
