Meet GRR’s Cody, a handsome young Golden who is a total love bug! This boy will join you in bed each night or snuggle up to you on the couch (he even burrows his face into the couch cushions). He will retrieve and bring the ball or toy back, he likes treat puzzles, and loves to have carrots for a snack! Cody loves people and has never met a stranger, he is well-mannered and calm around kids. One thing to know about Cody is that he has become quite attached to other dogs in his home. He is very friendly to the resident dogs in his foster home and has shown some reactivity to new or unfamiliar dogs; therefore, having opportunities for slow introductions in a safe, calm environment are necessary for Cody to feel secure. Currently, due to being treated for heartworms, he enjoys short walks and has even taken a trip or two to walk around Home Depot and has done well. He is described as playful, mellow, eager to please, and gentle.
Ideal Home: For Cody, a home where he can have a routine would be great, as he catches on to things quickly and is responsive to redirection, if needed. He loves all people, so a family that has time to spend with him daily would make him a very happy pup. Ultimately, Cody would benefit from having another dog in his home as he has shown in his foster home that he will bond closely with another dog if he is given time to adjust and acclimate to new canine friends.
