I understand that applying to adopt a specific dog does not guarantee eligibility to adopt that dog. It also does not guarantee that the dog will still be available after you have been approved to adopt.
Policies that apply to puppies 6 months and under -
Puppies: Dogs under 6 months old cannot be left longer than 2-4 hour increments. Adopters must spend an equal or greater amount of time when you are with the dog than away from the dog. For example, a 4-month-old puppy may be able to be left alone 2-3 hours, but you need to be able to spend that much time with them the next time you’re home.
Puppies under 6 months and retired breeding dogs: Dogs under six months old or who are retired breeding dogs will only be adopted to applicants who have another appropriate dog in the home. This will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to age, size, activity level, and ability to mentor/build confidence in the new dog.
This policy may also apply to other dogs in care, regardless of age and prior breeding status.
Spay & Neuter for puppies under 6 months: A $300.00 refundable deposit will be due upon adoption of a puppy not old enough to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. This is not part of the adoption fee and will be refunded once proof of the surgery has been provided in accordance with the adoption contract.
