Meet GRR’s Betty Boop who is high energy and has tons of love to share! Betty enjoys spending time with you on the couch, but she equally enjoys showing off her toys!  She loves to retrieve a toy or ball that is thrown; however, she has been protective of her toys with the resident dog in her foster home.  She has not shown the same protectiveness with people when it comes to her toys, and she does really enjoy playing with the other dog in her foster home. Betty has some timid moments when she is faced with something new or is unsure of something she encounters, but with more daily experiences, exposure to new things, and consistent practice to refine her manners, she will definitely make great strides.

Ideal Home: For Betty, an ideal home would be one where her family has time to devote to working with her daily to polish her training and manners; she shows great potential, as she has already learned several commands in a very short time!  To match her energy, it would be great for Betty to have a family who either has another dog for her to play with, or who can provide her with ample exercise/play to expend her daily energy. Overall, Betty is a friendly and happy girl who is both curious and loving. Could your family be the perfect fit for Betty Boop?

Betty Boop is an EGF Golden because she was very jumpy and extremely high energy and needed work on building confidence. Betty Boop came from a family who had no time for teaching her basic things like how to walk on a leash or expose her to anything outside of her home/yard. Betty Boop spent 3 weeks at Board and Train learning appropriate behavior and good manners.  She made great progress on impulse control, learning to accept some boundaries and to be patient.   Betty Boop is much better around cats and can actually focus on training with the cats around.  She has improved greatly when walking up to greet the cats but will get excited if one is under the couch and spits at her…. course what dog doesn’t.

Betty Boop is easy to redirect as she wants to please.  She is quiet when crated and sits when asked.   She is working to increase the amount of  "sit time” and the trainer’s distance when going through her exercises.  She is also learning to sit and wait at the door and doing lots and lots of recall work.
