Meet GRR’s Bailey Irish Cream, a beautiful girl who is learning so much about day to day life after years of solitude as a breeding dog. Bailey takes time to get used to new things on her terms, but with time to adapt and decompress a bit, she is already coming out of her shell more and more! She enjoys exploring outside (sniffing), she is learning to enjoy treats, and has even started carrying around some toys. Bailey is learning to trust people, but sudden movements, loud noises, or unexpected environmental happenings can overwhelm her. She has already made progress in just a short time in her foster home; she loves to lounge or snuggle on her blanket. Bailey will put her chin or paw on the couch if she is requesting some attention, when she is excited she hops around like a bunny and in playful moments she will army crawl! Bailey has started interacting with the resident dog in her foster home and loves to play chase, roll in the grass, or lay in the sun. While she still has things to learn and has moments of insecurity, Bailey is proving to be a fast learner and while she’s cautious, she’s also extremely sweet, curious, and friendly.
Ideal Home: For Bailey, a home where her people understand that she will need time to trust as she learns new things is imperative; rushing her or pressuring her can lead to her “freezing up”. Bailey needs a family who can take things slow with her and who will calmly encourage her day to day as she gains confidence in herself. She seems to prefer women, but with time and without pressure, she is slowly warming up to the male in her foster home. Bailey should have another dog in the home, so long as the dog was fairly well-mannered and not too wild. She loves time outside and roaming around in the yard. Could your family be Bailey's fur-ever family?
