Yesterday we said goodbye to Shelly, GRR # 07-036. She had been having weakness in her legs for quite some time. Her condition became progressively worse and we knew we must let her go.
We were GRR volunteers in March 2007 and were asked to transport Shelly and another Golden to their foster homes. We adopted Shelly who devoted her entire life to caring for us. We were so blessed to have this wonderful girl always by our side. We often said she was the original Velcro dog. We are sure she knew how very much she meant to us and that provided comfort to her as well.
We will miss you, dear Shelly.
