Let me introduce myself. I was Laverne, but now I am Sasha, as my fosters are now calling me. I am told that I am a beautiful young lady with a white coat that is growing in nice and thick and lush. I also have deep brown eyes that I use to my advantage.  I have finally finished my treatment for that nasty old heart worm and I am feeling great now. I can finally play and have fun to my heart’s content.  I am a gentle girl and enjoy meeting both children and adults.  My favorite pastime is relaxing beside my caretaker.  I like walks on my leash, and I am very good about letting you know when it is time to go outside.

I really like cats and sometimes even like to tease the cat I am currently living with, but we are good friends and he doesn’t mind playing with me.  I am a little bit like a cat because I can tend to be a loner and enjoy spending some time on my own.  I especially enjoy alone time relaxing in my kennel with its comfy bed.

Here are some thoughts about me from my foster mom: Sasha is a very smart girl and loves to please. She takes direction well even though she has a bit of an independent air about her. She is such a gentle dog, and can be a bit timid with strangers or shy in new situations at first, but because of her loving spirit, she warms up quickly to everyone and everything. But after politely greeting any newcomers in the house, she is not a pest and leaves them alone after saying hello.

Sasha is only 2, so she is quite energetic and has learned to love play with a ball and can even catch a Frisbee. Even though Sasha is not particularly fond of getting a bath, she will sit still and enjoy the grooming that follows.

Sasha is a very smart girl, which will keep her forever family on their toes! She walks well on the leash, and has mastered "sit, stay'.  She is working on "down, stay".  She has come so far in gaining confidence and trust with her foster.

Ideal home: Sasha needs a family or single person who will continue to help build her confidence and continue training.  She is fine with older children and cats but she probably would not be comfortable with another dog in the home.  Sasha needs to walk daily and run in a yard to work off her new found energy.  Continuing training will be a must.  Sasha enjoys people but likes her alone time.
