Age: 8 months

Weight: 38 lbs.

Personality: When looking up the definition of “high energy” in the on-line dictionary, several of Gunner’s photos appear.  Like any young Golden pup, he is more than ready to explore, run and cavort. Gunner’s problem was that he had his full share of energy, and his previous owners realized that they did not have the time to direct that energy with training and outdoor activities. Left to his own imagination, Gunner predictably came up with his own ideas including counter surfing, “jetting” out the front door (off to the races!), and pulling like a tractor when on a leash. All totally expected when pent-up puppy energy meets opportunity!

In Gunner’s case, that energy is combined with an outstanding sweet personality in a relatively small (for a Golden) package. In his former home, he was around children and was great with them, in fact, fine with children of all ages!

His previous owner relates that Gunner is not a fan of cats, and he was the only pet in that household.  Now that Gunner is at his foster’s home, he has several other Goldens to live with (as shown in the photos), and is very social, reading the other dogs very well.  He has quickly settled into their home, easily becoming part of the pack. In his foster home, he has shown his love of chasing balls and catching Frisbees, and is now learning to retrieve them. All that channeled activity leads to the inevitable nap, and Gunner has selected his favorite place for his puppy siestas.

According to the vet, Gunner appears to be in fine health, with good teeth, skin and eyes. He is very intelligent, and in the short time with his foster, he is already showing that he is a very interested and fast learner. His potential is inspiring! Gunner is more than ready to show you what a fine Golden he is becoming.

Ideal home: Gunner would be best in a home with humans that would enjoy participating in the amazing transformation that takes place when puppy energy is directed into constructive training and pure fun. Gunner’s fondest wish in his forever home is for indoor and outdoor interaction on a daily basis. More information on Gunner is coming as he reveals his full personality to his GRR fosters.
