Personality: Tobin came to GRR from south Texas after being found wandering alone in the streets.  Thankfully, his fundamental health was good, and he was found free of heart worms but he still needed medical help getting rid of some pesky parasites and ticks. Luckily, he found GRR, and the transition from foundling to foster family member has been awe-inspiring.

Tobin is a true golden boy that just loves to play with his canine companions.  He has bonded quickly with his foster’s dogs and keeps a running dialog going with them.  Cats, on the other hand, present a minor problem, particularly if he cannot get past by them on walks in the neighborhood.   At that point, Tobin must resort to barking! Otherwise, he is just fine with them. And speaking of walks, he has been great on the leash with minimal pulling.

During backyard play, Tobin’s idea of retrieving is to bring the ball back, and then initiate a tug-of-war contest to see who can wind up with the ball in their possession. Repeat until exhausted!

All that good exercise generates an appetite, and Tobin is one fine eater!  His improved nutrition has already added needed pounds to his frame and his fur is revealing a wonderful coat in progress.   When presented with a bully stick to chew on, rather than chew it on the spot, he instinctively trots to the back door and whines to go outside and bury it!

As far as inside manners, Tobin has been allowed to have the run of the house when left alone, and has had no issues with munching on items that catch his interest.  His main activity inside is initiating play with his canine pals, and following that, taking well-earned naps.

After only a few days, his foster says “He has come a long, long way since his rescue”. The anxiety and fear from life on the streets has faded fast and Tobin is showing his Golden nature in spades.  The twinkle in his eye says “I’m ready, how ‘bout you?”

Ideal Home:    Tobin has a moderate energy level that is so typical of Goldens his age. He would be ideal in a forever home with laid back family members and one or more furry faced companions for added fun.
