Personality: Thor is the consummate goofball, a diamond in the rough, and maybe even a hippie! He would probably brake for butterflies! Everything and every human and every dog is a complete and glorious wonder to him. Exploration and play and more exploration and then more play. That’s Thor. He uses his paws like a cat and can scoop toys and swat them like a feline, but we guarantee he’s all Golden. Here’s another of our dogs that go into the water bowl like it’s a swimming pool, they just can’t get enough! Thor is, for all the rambunctiousness, a kind and gentle soul, a young-hearted dog that is committed to making the world smile.

Ideal home: Thor is going to need a quiet environment with older, calmer children and adults who will love him through it all. See comments below.

Comments:

Thor has to have a femoral head osteotomy (FHO) (hip surgery) for both hips. We’re looking for a family that would help him through these surgeries and then adopt him. Golden Ribbon Rescue pays for the expenses of his health care during this six-month period as he regains his ability to bear weight on each leg. If you would like more information about Thor and what his care might entail, please contact us at adopt4@grr-tx.com. Some extra attention and extra care until he’s ready to chase the butterflies again!

He’s ready to meet you as you fill out your application but first and foremost you must:

have a loving patient heart
be looking for a FFF (furry forever friend)
adore Golden Retrievers
