Positive for heartworms?:
Extraordinary Golden Fund recipient?:

 GRR Number: 20-023

Type of Surrender: Owner Turn In

Status: Available

Age: ~9 years

Weight: 73 lbs

Personality: Remi’s story is one of rags to riches.  In his previous life, Remi spent all his time outdoors. Hot, cold, rainy… he was forced to endure it while his family remained inside.  Because of this, his skin and ears are not healthy, and he is heartworm positive.  A caring neighbor watched this go on until they could not take it anymore.  The neighbor reached out to the owners and convinced them it would be best to surrender Remi to GRR so that he could have a better life. The owners admitted to not being able to provide the time, love, and attention that a dog requires and gave Remi the chance at a better life!

Remi is settling in at his foster home and is learning how to live indoors.  Of course, since he is new at this, he is a little rough around the edges, but as he adjusts to the new routine, his foster family hopes his true personality will emerge.  Currently, he is contained to tiled areas and has been content inside. He seemed a little concerned about recent thunderstorms, but otherwise sleeps through the night. He will play with toys for a little while and then drops them.  He loves to be brushed, is super sweet, and has a beautiful coat and smile.

Ideal Home: Remi would be perfect for an older person or couple who won't have to worry about being pulled over or having to chase that wild dog thru the neighborhood. He's move-in ready! He would be great with another dog, too. Other than all the pills he has to take, he is a no-fuss dog. Although, I do not know how he responds to other dogs on a walk. His forever family must be willing to see him through with his heartworm treatment, at GRR’s expense.
