GRR number: 16-011

Type of Surrender: Stray, from Killeen Animal Center

Status: Available

Age: 5 years

Weight: 90 lbs, goal weight 60-65 lbs

Personality: Nutmeg is a very sweet girl that was found as a stray in Killeen. She has a quiet personality, and rode well in the car from the animal shelter to her veterinarian appointment. She has bright eyes and a beautiful expressive face with reddish gold fur.

Her appointment with the veterinarian went well, and she appears to be in good physical condition.  As part of her medical care, she was spayed while at the vet, and recovered just fine.

Her personality can best be described as gregarious, as she is no couch potato, and is interested in meeting everyone she can.

At this stage in her new life as a GRR rescue, she is currently more than a bit overweight, but soon to be healthily shedding those extra pounds.  Good nutrition, fun exercise and generous helpings of de-stressing works wonders.

She is plenty strong, as evidenced by her pull on the leash during her transfer from the animal shelter.  Her manners on walks will improve quickly with a little training, accelerated when motivated by her (obvious) love of food!

While little is known about her previous owners, her loving behavior and gentle personality indicates she is ready and willing to become an “over-the-top” companion in her new forever home. Nutmeg will make a stellar family member.

Ideal home: Nutmeg would love to be in a home in which there was time for dedicated rubs and lots of human interaction. More of her personality details will emerge as she becomes familiar with her GRR foster parents.
