Personality:

Max has an extraordinary love for life and he lives his life to the fullest! Everyday is an opportunity to enjoy the best things life has to offer. Things like the art of pulling on the leash during walks or barking with excitement while pacing during car rides. His excitement for life is only one of the many things that make Max great. His temperament is very well balanced, he learns quickly with consistency, and he is strikingly handsome. He is the quintessential Golden with the exuberance of a puppy.

As an overgrown puppy, Max will sometimes forget how big he really is and has a tendency to knock children down. So he would thrive in a home without small children. Max is also incredibly smart. He does learn quickly with consistent training and will do well in a structured home that will continue to teach him. He would also benefit from learning new sports, as his current sports of counter surfing and trash raiding are less than ideal. He does have a solid foundation though, as he is reliable in the home and knows some commands like sit, wait and down, most of the time.

Sports are only some of the things Max enjoys. He also really, really enjoys food! Belly rubs and the destruction of fluffy toys are also fantastic past times. And although Max lives his life to the fullest, he knows how to calm down after a good romp in the backyard. Canine companions are great playmates for Max and he does well with or without them. The one thing Max enjoys most of all is receiving loads of attention from his people.

Max is a ball of excitement and love.  He is looking for the right people to enjoy life with. If he sounds like the perfect companion to you, like he does to us, please submit an application for his adoption. He is waiting with high anticipation.

Ideal home:

Max is an exuberant dog with a strong appreciation for life who’s looking for an active person or family to continue his training and exercise. Also someone willing to shower him with affection and love.

Currently, it is unknown if Max would do well with cats. He does sleep well through the night and does well in a crate, although he’s not thrilled by it.
