Personality: Marjorie’s story with GRR is an example of the true meaning of the word “rescue.” A good Samaritan was walking his own dog one day in San Antonio and saw this beautiful red dog struggling to stay afloat in a rushing drainage ditch. Marjorie’s rescuer waded in and pulled her out and realized that he’d found a real prize. She eventually wound up with GRR and is now looking for a family with which to live out her life.

Marjorie has reached her golden years and shows signs of pain from arthritis but takes her medication like a trooper. Her hearing likely isn’t what it once was, but Marjorie responds to her foster mother when she sees here. She is a pretty red girl, is housebroken, and knows some commands. She loves affection and, therefore, likes to be groomed. What better way to get attention than to let yourself be pampered? She must have some pretty exciting dreams, because her foster mom says her legs get moving in her sleep like she’s running a marathon! She is also a true Texan, having already had her picture taken among the bluebonnets.

Ideal Home: Marjorie is fairly low energy and would be the perfect companion for seniors looking for the love and companionship of a well-behaved, low maintenance dog.
