Personality: Good things come in small packages! Petite, blonde Bonnie is what our vets refer to as a “pocket Golden," being nearly full grown at 43 pounds. And what an adorable little thing she is! Since Bonnie still has a lot of puppy in her, she’s full of energy and shenanigans and loves play time. Tug-of-war is quickly becoming one of her favorite games and she is learning to fetch. Her foster home is her first exposure to real toys and she is making up for lost time with great enthusiam.

Bonnie is crate trained, but needs a lot of exercise in the mornings and evenings before she has to spend much time in there. She’s good in the car, but needs some leash training as she is quite the puller. Luckily, she’s not a 70-pounder! She is a silly habit of chewing her leash and getting all wrapped up in it.

Even though Bonnie is high energy, she is initially a bit shy. But is doesn’t take long for her out-going personality to shine. And smart? She learned to sit in just a couple of hours (with the help of some tempting treats). If there are no treats handy, her good behavior is rewarded with a belly rub. The rest of the basic commands came quickly after "sit" and now are a part of her growing inventory of smarts.

Ideal Home: Bonnie very much enjoys people, so a family who is around a lot and would include her in many of their activities would be greatly appreciated for this sweet dog. She gets along great with children and other dogs, so a family with older kids and other dogs would do well with Bonnie. She truly loves to be cuddled and would make a great therapy dog.
