Those who love deeply never grow old. Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art.
- Stanislaw Lec

With age comes wisdom and with a passion for life that is only achievable with time. Bogart is reaching his senior years but don’t tell him that, he doesn’t seem to know yet!  He is a puppy at heart and LOVES (and I mean LOVES) tennis balls. His favorite game is fetch. Wherever we are he always has a tennis ball or two, and just in case I don't already know that he loves to fetch his ball, he will leave it right in front of me.  Filling the dishwasher?  He puts the tennis ball on the open tray. Sitting on the sofa? He puts the ball next to me.  He is entertained endlessly by his favorite toy.

Through his vast wisdom, Bogart has mastered the art of a true gentleman, displaying courteous home and car manners, refined leash walking skills, never jumping and a proficiency with commands.  Now, there are times when he is tempted by the delicacies of tasty trash, but who doesn’t have their vices? Keeping that temptation out of reach works best. When he leaves a toy outside and forgets to bring it in with him, all I have to say is “go get your toy” and Bogart ventures outside to bring it in.  What a smarty pants!  If you are looking for a pal to take in the car with you, you've found a great car companion!  He loves to ride in the car.

He sleeps through the night without any problems but he doesn't like sleeping too late.  On a rare occasion he enjoys waking me up with a morning nuzzle with his wet nose on his handsome face.

Bogart wants nothing more than to belong to a family where he is cherished and loved for the rest of his life. If your home is without the perfect, well-mannered, and refined gentleman, consider submitting your application to meet Bogart.

Ideal home: Remember, Bogart still thinks he is a puppy when it comes to playtime and walks. His walks are limited to 1 mile per day and fetching to about 3 minutes or he gets a little sore from arthritis. He is young at heart and doesn’t always know his limits. Even though he loves to play, he settles down well. Bogart would do best in a 1-story home and loves the attention of kids and loves to be loved.  He gets along with older dogs but prefers not to be around dogs that are overly active.  Cats are very interesting to him as well.  He enjoys his naps and is more suited to a slower lifestyle than being someone's jogging partner.  He doesn't jump up on people and has great manners when meeting new people. When we come across little kids on our walks, he lets them pet him and watches them run around. He tolerates their “exuberance” for a while, and then wants to continue on the walk (without the kids).  Bogart would enjoy a family willing to offer lots of companionship, a never ending supply of tasty treats, and loads of quality time together.  He will bring joy and love to you and your household as your new best friend!
