Mason

Cheerful, chunky Mason and his friend Brittany came to GRR when their family’s youngest child developed severe allergy problems. The dogs could no longer stay indoors—but the family knew that the outdoor life wasn’t right for two sociable Goldens, especially during a summer of record-breaking heat. After much soul searching, they made the difficult decision to surrender their pets to Gold Ribbon Rescue.

Mason shares his foster home with a gaggle of other Goldens! He can be a bit huffy with boy dogs, but he’s having a great time running around with multiple girlfriends (the exercise is good for his waistline, too). His foster mom soon discovered that the clever dog knows how to open gates (he actually chewed neatly through a bungee cord). He let everyone else out and was just on the point of maneuvering his own beefier form through the crack, when—busted! Caught in the act. Now the gate is secured with a sturdy chain and Mason seems perfectly happy to contain his adventures to “legal” venues.

Mason grew up with kids and would do great in a home with children. Cats are a “no,” however—he is quite intent on chasing the resident kitties. He’ll also need a home who understands storm-phobic dogs—like many Goldens, Mason really, really does NOT like thunder! During unsettled weather, he needs to have his folks close at hand.

Mason rides nicely in the car and does really well in his crate—goes right in on command.  He’d probably like to swim, as he digs enthusiastically in his water bucket. He’s good in the house and hasn’t tried to take anything off the counters. He enjoys toting stuffies around but hasn’t torn anything up yet.

Mason’s foster mom calls him “a real nice guy.”  He’s the perfect age, too—not a crazy puppy, not an old guy. He’s waiting to meet you!
