Adopted
Shiloh
has been a lot of fun! Within a few minutes of his arriving at our home,
he lapped up some water out of the pool and kept on going in for a quick swim.
We learned quickly that it was handy to keep a towel by the back door, just in
case. He enjoys sitting in the water or dipping his paws in to cool off in
the afternoon. Shiloh immediately hit it off with our own Golden and our
cat. He loves to give you little licks and is a happy little fellow.
He loves to be brushed, does terrific in the car, enjoys being close to where
you are, gets along great with other animals, and sleeps through the night.
Not bad for a dog who has been primarily an outside dog until this time.
He’s had a few accidents in the house, but he’s getting better and we’re sure
he’ll be completely
housebroken in no time. He’s very bright and eager to please. He
loves to go for walks and doesn’t pull on the leash at all. Shiloh is a
great companion on slow jogs and holds his own on the hills in our neighborhood.
He does great with “sit” and “heal”, and we’re getting close on “stay”. He
is being crate trained right now and he does well, other than he lets you know
that he’s not too happy about it by sulking for the first few minutes!
He’s a loveable guy, with beautiful dark eyes and a happy smile. He’s settling in well, doesn’t counter surf and is more interested in carrying your shoe around the house than chewing it up. He has no interest in jumping on the furniture and is terrific with our children. He’s becoming more and more trustworthy each day and will make a wonderful addition to a loving home!
From his adoptive home 10/28/2004:
Shiloh (now renamed Seamus!) is soooooo wonderful. We love him and he loves us, especially our kids- they are best friends, as you can see from the photo. After a couple of months of living in his new home, he really relaxed and his personality got livelier, and now he is so playful and happy (in addition to being sweet, which he always was). We cannot imagine life without him now. Here are a couple of recent pictures!
